Test results
We serve a diverse community made up of families in a wide range of circumstances including a high proportion with additional challenges. All of our families want the best for their children and the vast majority are ambitious, aspiring to excellence but 40% of our children have special educational needs and 58% qualify for pupil premium funding. These challenges mean that many children start school well behind national expectations. Our results show the difference a good school can make. We are hugely proud of the progress of our children.
Early Years Foundation Stage Results 2024
59% of pupils achieved the expected standard in al 12 areas of learning (just below the national figure of 66% despite 100% of the cohort starting with language development that was below the expected standard). Our children with SEND did very well from their starting points and our children without additional needs out-performed their peers nationally by 6%.
Year 1 Phonics Screening Check
88% passed, putting us in the top 30% of all schools nationally.
Our children scored 38 out of 40 on average compared to the national average of 33. A phenomenal achievement.
Key Stage 1
64% achieved the expected standard in Reading.
46% achieved the expected standard in Writing. Significant work developing writing going on in school.
73% achieved the expected standard in Maths.
Key Stage 2
Progress scores were all significantly above national expectations. These are calculated by taking the standardised score that each child achieved when they finished key stage 1 and comparing it with the standardised score they achieved at the end of key stage 2. A negative score means they achieved less than was expected, a score of zero means they achieved exactly what was expected and anything above zero indicates they made better than expected progress. Results continued to improve from previous years. Our pupils this year achieved incredible results:
Average Progress score in Reading: 7.5
Average Progress score in Writing: 3.5
Average Progress score in Maths: 3.7
Reading: 70% achieved the expected standard (17% achieved greater depth)
Writing: 48% achieved the expected standard (significant work developing writing going on in school)
Maths: 52% achieved the expected standard (4% achieved greater depth)
Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling: 62% achieved the expected standard (22% achieved greater depth)
Well done to all the children. We are very proud of all of you.
